Torch Chair Grant Lewis Interviews with KCUR 89.3

Grant Lewis, TORCH Chair for NSBE Kansas City Professionals, recently sat down with KCUR to discuss the transformative work of WeCode KC. As one of the program’s key advocates, Lewis emphasized how WeCode KC empowers youth of color with coding skills and exposure to careers in technology, addressing the critical lack of diversity in the industry. By partnering with organizations like NSBE, WeCode KC is equipping young minds with the tools to succeed and helping shape a tech industry that reflects the communities it serves.

During the 49th Annual Convention our chapter President, Kaila Wilson, was able to represent NSBE Kansas City on KC KCTV 5! She was able to spread the word and inform viewers about our mission and impact. We could not be more proud of the work she has done this last year that has included reactivating the chapter and to creating engaging events and increasing our membership.
